Pucallpa Healing Center
Description
This is a healing center in the Shipibo community of San Francisco de Yarinacocha, one hour north of Pucallpa, in the Amazon region of Peru. Niwe in Shipibo means wind. Nete means world. The center was named because the center is located at a high point in the community, where wind passes through. Niwe in Shipibo also refers to spirit and the subtle unseen forces of nature.
The center has a maloca, a kitchen, a communal sleeping space/dormitory, three houses with bedrooms (8 private bedrooms in total). The center is equipped with running water, electricity (solar powered), and all the necessities such as toilets and showers.
The space is kept pure, both energetically and physically. During season, there are healers working at the center 24/7, so the space has been cultivated over a long time to be conducive to holding holistic retreats.
The center is located just outside the village of San Francisco de Yarinacocha, so is quiet and peaceful, but it is still possible to reach the village for supplies. While the center is located within Shipibo tribal land, therefore running retreats here requires approval of the community. This we will take care of.
