Abeliona retreat
Description
Perched at 833 metres in the mountains of Arcadia, Abeliona Retreat is a stone-and-wood sanctuary nestled among chestnut trees in one of the Peloponnese’s most unspoiled villages. The property blends traditional Arcadian architecture with contemporary comfort — think thick stone walls, fireplaces, and rooms that genuinely breathe.
The retreat hosts 21 spacious suites (13 Junior, 8 Family), each with a fireplace, private bathroom, and modern amenities. At the top of the property sits an 80 sqm yurt — a purpose-built space for yoga, meditation, and group therapeutic sessions, with an additional 50 sqm outdoor pavilion beneath it. It’s the kind of venue where a group actually disconnects.
Food is a serious focus here. The kitchen works with organic produce from its own farm and free-range eggs from its own chicken coop, with meals customisable to group needs. Dining capacity sits at around 50 people.
For activities, guests have access to 90km of signposted hiking and cycling trails through the Apollo Trails network, E-bike rentals, and day trips to Ancient Olympia, the Temple of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae (a short drive away), and the Neda River for rafting. The property also participates in a European sustainability program and offers EV charging on-site.
