Most retreat venues ask you to share something. A road, a boundary wall, a car park, a neighbouring house with its own idea of what a Tuesday morning should sound like. Las Vegas de Elvira asks you to share nothing at all. The estate sits inside more than three hundred hectares of Andalusian countryside, and for the length of your booking the whole of it is yours: the buildings, the courtyards, the gardens, the fields, the silence.

That is the practical reason organisers choose it. The other reason is that it holds forty people without ever feeling like a hotel, and it does so half an hour from an international airport.

No. 01 · The Destination

Why Cádiz, Why San José del Valle

The province of Cádiz is the part of Andalusia that most retreat groups have not used yet. It has the weather of southern Spain with a fraction of the traffic, and the landscape shifts quickly: dehesa and olive groves at the estate, the white village of Arcos de la Frontera twenty minutes away, Jerez de la Frontera and its sherry bodegas at thirty, and the Atlantic beaches of the Costa de la Luz within a comfortable day trip.

Access is the part organisers usually worry about, and here it is straightforward. Jerez Airport is roughly thirty minutes from the gate. Seville Airport is about an hour and fifteen. Guests can land in the morning and be in a session by the afternoon.

Three Hundred Hectares, One Group

The buildings run to two thousand square metres of usable space, arranged the way Andalusian estates have been arranged for centuries: low white ranges around open courtyards, deep arcades on the shaded side, lawns and gardens on the other. There is no reception desk and no second party on site. Bookings are for exclusive use of the estate, which means your group sets the timetable, the volume and the dress code.

Included in the nightly rate are the accommodation, the indoor and outdoor spaces, the gardens and common areas, Wi-Fi, parking, and use of the property for retreat activities. There is no separate room-hire line for the practice spaces.

No. 03 · The Rooms

Eight Doubles, Eight Apartments, Forty Guests

Accommodation is split between eight double rooms and eight apartments, with twelve bathrooms across the estate. The mix is useful in practice: doubles for guests travelling alone or in pairs, apartments for families, facilitators who want their own space, or teams who prefer to be grouped together. Forty is the working maximum, and smaller groups of fifteen to twenty sit comfortably in the same footprint without the estate feeling empty.

Rooms are finished in a restrained Andalusian style, with heating and air conditioning throughout, so the venue works in February as well as June.

No. 04 · The Spaces

A Vaulted Hall, Arched Galleries and Two Courtyards

The estate's main hall is the room organisers tend to book on. It is a long vaulted space with a timbered ceiling, a fireplace at one end, and enough floor for a full circle of forty mats or a seated workshop. The arched galleries that run along the buildings work as shaded practice space through the summer, with the countryside on three sides and nothing to look at but fields.

Beyond that there is a dedicated yoga space and a meditation space, a conference room and boardroom with projectors, co-working stations, two courtyards, a garden, an outdoor terrace and a pool. The estate is wheelchair accessible, which is rare at this scale and worth flagging early to your guests.

Kitchen, Private Chef and Andalusian Experiences

Meals are not included in the base rate, which keeps the nightly price low and leaves you the choice. The kitchen is open to guests for self-catering, a chef is available on site, a private chef can be hired, and the venue can organise catering for the full stay. Groups running plant-based or allergen-specific menus usually take the private chef route and set the menu in advance.

The estate also arranges the kind of programming that turns a retreat into a trip guests talk about afterwards: sherry tastings, flamenco, culinary workshops, farm visits, nature activities and private excursions. Airport transfers, instructors, treatments and excursions sit outside the base price and are quoted on request.
